The quiet cost of manual operations
An average annual loss targeted of around thirty nine thousand, and none of it appears as a line item in the accounts.
By Nikolas Pulido
Manual operations do not send an invoice. They take their payment in missed follow ups, duplicate records, and the hour a week each person spends reconstructing what happened.
How to price the leak
- Count the enquiries that never received a second contact
- Multiply by your average order value and your close rate
- Add the hours spent on reporting that a system could generate
- Add the churn from onboarding that arrived late
Most owners are surprised by the total. It is rarely one dramatic failure. It is a hundred small ones that repeat every month.
